The 2WARdS Europe project in the Czech Republic is implemented by Barevný děti in cooperation with Živá paměť and Jan Pirgl Photography in the south of the Czech Republic.
The aim of the project is to provide deeper insights in current lives of elderly WWII survivors, show their interests and passions. Regular encounters, unobtrusive recordings, discussions and fun together are the principles of our work. We prefer give and take approach and do not see the seniors as history textbooks but as strong personalities that can share many things from their present and past. We try to give the potential audience some incentives to go and talk to these people in person while they are still alive, get truly interested in what they do and what they like. The war stories and memories will come later, at the right moments and very naturally.
