Roman and his grandfather

Roman works as a journalist in Leipzig, Germany. His grandfather Rolf, too, lived in this city during the Second World War. Roman wants to know how he experienced the war and what his live was like in the army. And why he thought that there was no chance to escape that the fascist system that destroyed so many people's lifes.

Frederik and his grandmother

When he was a child, Frederik would often listen to the stories that his grandmother Gretchen told about the war. Years later he works as a journalist and starts to research about the Second World War. When he hears his grandmother's stories again, they enfold their full impact on him.
