Cesis Culture and Tourism Center
Cesis Culture and Tourism center (CCTC) is a municipal agency which preserves and promotes local cultural heritage, educates the public about regional history and organizes cultural life in Cēsis town in Latvia.
Cēsis History and Arts museum is a significant part of the organization. The museum has more than 100 000 items in its collection - this is the base for historic and art exhibitions, organized by museum specialists in Cēsis Castle complex. Interactive excursions are provided to different visitors groups, especially the young audience, in order to raise the awareness of the history’s impact in today’s life. Collecting stories from local inhabitants help the museum to work with local community, building its identity and pride.
As well CCTC is supporting activities of 13 amateur art groups (choirs, dance and theatre groups etc.). There is a possibility for all age groups - from children to retired people to participate in voluntary creative cultural activities. CCTC organizes different cultural events during the year – concerts, performances, meaningful anniversaries and festivities, including the local city festival, attracting wide audiences.
